ABOUT US

We have been serving the Capital District and beyond for 36 years at our current location. Our business was started by Ralf and Anita in 1987.

 

Ralf and Anita's son Eric took over our family salon in 2023. He focused at first on mastering color, becoming an Aveda Colour Educator in 2013. In 2014 he spent  8 months in London as a guest artist and international collaborator with brands such as Aveda, Rush, and Sassoon. He is a certified Colour educator with Aveda and has received certificates for further education from Surface, Goldwell, Aveda, L'Oreal, Sassoon, and RUSH; He continues to be at the cutting edge of the hair colour and cutting market.

Ralf graduated as a Friseurmeister from the Handwerkskammer Ulm in Germany in 1977 (The equivalent of a higher education degree in business and education of cosmetology). Ralf had a salon in downtown Stuttgart Feuerbach for 5 years before moving to the US. He worked for Les Ciseaux in Albany while steadily grown his business. In 1988 he opened International Hair Design by Ralf in the New York Capital Region.

 

Anita trained in Stuttgart and worked with many celebrity hair dressers there, most recognisably, Alexandre of Paris.
